Promoting an unfettered sense of identity in all stages and circumstances of life.
Mita is dedicated to providing pieces that support the autonomy and individuality of every woman+ by thoughtfully addressing the everyday needs of those often overlooked in fashion — women+ whose ability to dress may be affected by conditions such as dementia, chronic illness or injury.
Gentle Dressing
With ease at the cornerstone, all Mita pieces are designed to complement an existing wardrobe or form a complete and adaptable capsule for those who value familiarity. Our signature raglan sleeves provide greater comfort than set-in sleeves, particularly for side-resting, while the elimination of unnecessary hardware makes dressing simpler for those with limited dexterity.
Adaptable Wear
The split necklines of The Tunic Top and The Sleeveless Dress offer overhead ease and are patterned for reverse wearability, providing a crew-neck alternative for layer-friendly styling and accommodating those who may experience front-to-back orientation challenges. The 7/8 length standard ensures adaptability for wearers of varying heights and carriage.
Care-Centric
While care is at the core of every piece in our collection, we created The Care Pant to go a little bit further. A variant of The Relaxed Pant — offering the quality of a tailored trouser with the comfort to lounge — it adds discreet side zips for modest access, supporting wearers or carers with wound care, clinical aides and other accessibility needs without compromising comfort or dignity.
Calming Comfort
All our garments are made from a custom-milled, heavier-weight ponte knit, intentionally crafted to support a feeling of comfort and groundedness. The considered weight draws on evidence that gentle tactile pressure can calm the nervous system and ease anxiety, while its breathable construction ensures suitability for all-day, everyday, transeasonal wear.
