NDIS and Mita — advocating for those often left out of the fashion conversation.

Clothing plays an important role in how we move through the world — shaping comfort, confidence and a sense of self in everyday life. For many people living with disability, the act of dressing can be more complex, requiring garments that better support the body and its needs.

Mita designs garments with those realities in mind. Adaptive elements are integrated throughout our designs, responding to the practical requirements of dressing while maintaining the quality, silhouette and integrity expected of contemporary fashion.

Some of these considerations include the removal of unnecessary hardware for those with limited dexterity, the heavier weight of our custom-knitted fabric to promote calm, discreet pant-leg side zips that allow access for clinical care and neckline patterning that enables comfortable reverse wear.

In recognising the value of these features, Mita is registered as a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider (Registration ID: 4-LAHM6KT) under Assistive Products for Personal Care and Safety (Group 0103). This applies to participants who are Self-Managed, Plan-Managed and Agency-Managed.

As garments designed to support practical dressing needs, Mita pieces may be eligible as Low-Cost Assistive Technology under the NDIS, where deemed reasonable and necessary in accordance with an individual participant’s plan and funding approval.

  • Self-Managed

    For participants who are self-managing their plan, the process should be simple.

    Purchase your Mita garment as usual, then submit a reimbursement claim through the NDIS portal using the email receipt provided after purchase.

  • Plan-Managed

    The process can proceed in two ways:

    1. Purchase a Mita garment as usual and submit the email receipt to your plan manager for reimbursement.

    2. Complete the form via the button below and an invoice can be issued to you and/or your plan manager.

    The order will be dispatched once payment is received.

  • Agency-Managed

    For participant's whose plans are NDIA-Managed, please complete the form via the button below and we can arrange an invoice for you and/or your plan manager.

    The order will be dispatched once payment has been received.
